Original artwork for sale. Pet portraits from your photographs. My current timescale is 3 weeks from ordering to dispatch. Your chosen photo of your cat or dog needs to have good definition and be in good light. Please have a look at previous work and this should give you an idea of what is needed. Often customers have sent a little of their pets own hair to be woven into the portait. Needlefelting is a very tactile finished product. Finished product will be unframed but protected behind acrylic glass for posting.
I have been needlefelting only for a few years and love the realism that natural media can produce. I use merino wool which is softer than pure wool and has less unruly fibres. The portrait is achieved by pricking strands of wool into a strong backing felt using a special barbed needle.
About me..
I grew up in Inverness, capital of the Highlands, a city on Scotland's northeast coast. From a very early age I had an interest in art and was encouraged and inspired by my grandmother who herself was a wonderful artist. I spent many years selling paintings and undertaking commissions, but only as a hobby. Now with family grown I want to rediscover my love of art on a full time and permanent basis. Working on a portrait gives me great satisfaction and connection with the beloved pet.
